I cannot recommend Raman enough! From our very first conversation, she made me feel completely at ease and took the time to understand exactly the bridal look I wanted. She traveled to my venue, arrived on time, and brought such a calm, positive energy that made my wedding morning so much more enjoyable.

Raman did both my hair and makeup, and I honestly couldn’t have been happier. She created a look that was elegant, timeless, and exactly what I had envisioned. My makeup looked flawless while still feeling natural, and my hairstyle stayed beautiful all day. Everything held up perfectly through the ceremony, photos, happy tears, and hours of dancing.

I received so many compliments throughout the day, and I truly felt like the most beautiful version of myself. Beyond her incredible talent, Raman is kind, professional, detail-oriented, and genuinely cares about making her brides feel special.

I had a great overall experience working with Raman Brar and her team for my wedding weekend, and I'm happy to leave a 5-star review because I truly loved my hair and makeup overall.

My makeup looked beautiful throughout all of my events. On the morning of my wedding, my mascara did run after a few hours during our first ceremony. We decided not to use mascara for my second ceremony that evening, and everything held up perfectly. I don't necessarily blame Raman for this since everyone's skin is different, but if you have oilier eyelids like I do, it's something worth discussing during your trial or before your wedding day.

My hair was one of my favorite parts of my looks, especially for our Sangeet. I have very thin hair, and Raman and her team did a wonderful job incorporating the extensions I purchased to create fullness and volume. My Sangeet hairstyle was my favorite of the weekend! My final hairstyle wasn't quite as full as I had envisioned, especially since we had discussed my hair's thinness beforehand, but overall I was very happy with all of my bridal looks.

There are just a couple of things I'd recommend future brides keep in mind when planning their timeline.

For my wedding morning, we started my bridal hair and makeup on time at 5:00 a.m , but we still ended up running behind my scheduled ready time. Later that day, before my second ceremony, Raman also arrived later than expected, so we had to move through my makeup a little more quickly. Wedding weekends can be unpredictable, and I know timing doesn't always go exactly as planned, but I'd recommend building in a little extra buffer time if your schedule is tight.

We also had Raman's team do hair and makeup for my immediate family. We had originally expected each appointment to take around 45 minutes to an hour, but some took over two hours, which unfortunately caused a few family members to miss important photos. Raman explained that part of the delay was because some people arrived with wet hair that needed to be dried first, so I'd definitely recommend making sure everyone's hair is fully dry before their appointment. I also think having a little flexibility in the order of appointments when some people are ready earlier could help keep the overall timeline moving smoothly.

Because the morning ran longer than expected, my family decided to skip their scheduled touch-ups before our second ceremony because they were worried about falling behind again. We still paid for the touch-up services since the artists had reserved that time, but it was unfortunate that we didn't end up taking advantage of them.

Overall, though, Raman is incredibly talented, and I truly loved how I looked throughout my wedding weekend. She was also very receptive when I shared my experience afterward, which I really appreciated. I would absolutely recommend Raman to future brides, especially if you build a little extra time into your schedule. Raman is amazing!!! I’ve had many Bay Area makeup/hair but she is by far the best. She is so sweet and so good at makeup AND HAIR;I’ve learned so much from her. She really listens to what you want and is willing to change anything even if it is multiple times. She’s so kind and I leave every appointment feeling lighter and relieved. I never worry when she does my makeup and hair and I can just sit back and relax. My mom also has a million requests and goes back and forth many times but Raman patiently accommodates her every time. Raman did for our glam for my brother’s wedding. My sister, my mom, and I were all so happy with our hair and makeup.
The makeup was perfect and lasted the entire event. I truly love her style, as well as her  cool and calm demeanor. She paid such close attention to what we wanted and delivered exactly that. Her chair side etiquette is also fantastic.

I hired Raman for my wedding weekend, including my sangeet and wedding day makeup.

On the positive side, I was very happy with my final wedding look. Raman is clearly talented, and the wedding makeup photographed beautifully. She understood the overall bridal look I was hoping for, and I felt beautiful on my wedding day.

That said, my experience was mixed. The biggest challenge was timing. Both my sangeet and wedding day ran later than planned, which resulted in me missing portrait time that I had been looking forward to. Since I did not do a separate pre-wedding photoshoot, I was hoping to use those windows during the wedding weekend for couple photos. Unfortunately, because of delays, those opportunities were lost.

I was also less happy with my sangeet makeup than my wedding makeup. The finish was more matte than I had envisioned, and overall I felt the wedding look was much stronger.

As an out-of-state bride planning a California wedding from Boston, I chose not to do a bridal trial because of the additional travel, logistics, and time commitment involved. While I understand the value of trials, I felt this decision was brought up multiple times throughout the process. I also felt some pressure to use a preferred saree drapist who was outside my budget. I ultimately chose a different drapist who did an excellent job for both me and my mother, and I appreciated having found a solution that worked well for us.

Overall, Raman created a wedding look that I genuinely loved, but the scheduling, communication around optional services, and overall experience did not fully meet my expectations. I would recommend discussing timelines in detail, building in additional buffer time, and clarifying expectations around optional services before booking.
